The United States Congress looks set to pass a law that will bring that country one giant step closer to facism, merging corporate and government power (the definition of facism) in a way that weeks ago would have seemed unthinkable. It should still be unthinkable.
And to make certain this power grab isn't financed by the the ones perpetrating this assault on human intelligence, they are asking that the taxpayer foot the bill...bailing the banks out for their abysmal investments, so that these same 'cap in hand' bankers can lend back to families and small businesses (the ones who just forked over the $700b to them) at interest. Maybe I have it all wrong...but I've yet to hear different.
A number of things I've heard and read are worrying. I don't understand how elected politicians can
openly admit that the message received by constituents is still running 100 to 1 against this rescue of the world's money lenders, yet somehow they feel their conscience tells them they must vote for it anyway 'for the good of the country'.
I don't understand how a country's politicians can so flagrantly violate their own constitution without regard to future generations, instead scurrying to secure a few billions more for this or that 'pet' cause for their own district. I don't understand why Americans wouldn't vote those same 'for the good of the country' politicians out of office this November. And most worrying...why isn't the '100 to one against' view getting heard in mainstream media sources, unless....naw. Not in America, surely.

The Blame Game
'I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.'
This quote from Thomas Jefferson was prophetic, although many uneducated puppets...er, pundits of the mainstream media still refuse to recognize or acknowledge it as such. The few individuals that have recognized the scope and significance of the economic calamity we now find ourselves are too busy playing the blame game to be any help.
Focus on what is really important, faith and family, and start preparing for an economic winter that might last longer than the average winter. My suggestions may sound ridiculous to some, but I'll state tham anyway. Store food and necessities like you have never before done. Not for a week, but for at least 3 months or more. The reason...with today's delicate supply lines for everything from food to fuel, a small disruption in that supply line can have devestating consequences. As I write this, over 50% (some media sources are saying closer to 80%) of gas stations in the Nashville area are without fuel, as a number of storms this season have played havoc with those very supply lines we are discussing.
It will get a lot worse before it gets better, so...prepare.
I would highly recommend www.survivalblog.com , in my opinion the best source for information on emergency preparedness.
Let others point the fingers...we'll go about doing what we need to do for our families in these historic times.

Not with a Bang but a Whimper
So this is how it ends, and how we begin. Not with a military armageddon (yet, anyway) but an economic one. In this blog, I'll provide insight into the events of the day, and how we are preparing to live without the 'nanny state' government services society has wrongly come to rely on.
We look forward to the discussion.
